American Gothic

In America as in Britain, the rise of the Gothic represented the other - the fearful shadows cast upon Enlightenment philosophies of common sense, democratic positivism, engravers gothic and optimistic futurity. The Gothic Revival

The Gothic Revival, writes Michael Lewis, is more than a fashion craze for pointed arches engravers gothic and pinnacles.
